Turn the famous classic Atayef into a mouth-watering cake! Just a few simple steps for a dessert you won’t forget.

Ingredients

Atayef Ingredients:

  • 500 ml warm milk
  • 500 ml warm water
  • 1 pack instant yeast
  • ¼ tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 300 g flour
  • 170 g semolina

Kiri layer ingredients:

  • 48 Kiri squares
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water

Cooking steps

Atayef:

  1. Mix milk, water, yeast, baking powder, salt, sugar, flower, and semolina
  2. Set aside for 30 minutes
  3. Pour half a cup of the batter on griddle
  4. Cook on one side

Kiri layer:

  1. Heat sugar with water for 7 minutes
  2. Mix 1-2 cups of the sugar syrup with Kiri squares
  3. Smear Qatayef with Kiri cheese caramel
  4. Sprinkle pistachio powder
  5. Repeat 4 times
  6. Garnish with more pistachio powder
